I am a Coordinator for the Women's Socio-Economic Projects Development Department of GABRIELA. Our work at present centers on providing extension services to initiatives of grassroots women in socio-economic projects.

At present, too, we are planning to undertake education work to deepen the grasp of GABRIELA's membership on the subject of women in development and hopefully to be able to launch sustained advocacy programs on various gender-related development issues in the immediate future, possibly focusing on the impact of Development Aid on the lives of Filipino women.

But first, we are preparing a list of helpful reading aids for our membership especially those from the grassroots. The book, "Women in Development, a Resource Guide for Organization and Action" is one important book that we feel we should share with our membership from various regions and provinces as well as other local development oriented networks we have established relations with.

Thank you very much and I wish you only the best in your work.

In sisterhood,

I am very interested in the books which were given to me like Growing Together and Women in Action.

I have began to establish your movement and named it Women in Action in our locality. I have around 50 women whose main occupations are farming and trading.

The establishment is a task ahead of me in Ghana and therefore I want you to help me in any means to let it be established and you will hear more about us in the role of women development in the country and the locality.

We have now started commercial farm activities in our area and some literacy programmes in education. I therefore request for some textbooks like Women and Development: A Resource Guide for Organization and Action and some other Isis International journals. Thanks for consideration.

Yours faithfully,

Ansah Eric Daskoh Kwadaso-Kumasi Ghana
